The Producer Responsibility Initiative (new Tyre Regulations) will be launched on 1st October 2017. All persons who handle tyres in the course of their business operation are obligated to join the Repak ELT compliance scheme.
Tyre Operator Registration
Due to the temporary change to the VAT rate introduced by the Government, membership of Repak ELT is now €68.86 (incl. VAT) and €49.19 (incl. VAT) for each additional premises.
The current tyre Regulations came into effect on October 1st 2017. Membership of Repak ELT is for the calendar year and is renewed annually in January.
Those joining late i.e. after October 1st 2017, are liable for all outstanding visible Environmental Management Costs (vEMC) back dated to this date. If you delay in joining you run the risk of enforcement action, your obligation will accumulate and you will have to pay all outstanding fees from October 1st 2017 to complete your registration.

The new tyre Regulations has introduced a visible Environmental Management Cost (vEMC) of €1.50 (+ VAT) on motor cycle tyres and €2.80 (+VAT) on passenger car tyres. VAT is at the 21% rate .
